Disability campaigners from across Suffolk said that neither major political parties make attempts to help them as they held a protest in Ipswich town centre.
During the Spring Statement last month, Chancellor Rachel Reeves slashed welfare spending to save £4.8billion, including tightening of the eligibility for the personal independence payment (PIP) and changes to the sickness element of universal credit.
In response to this, Suffolk Disabled People Against Cuts (DPAC) took to Ipswich Cornhill on Saturday to protest against the forthcoming changes to PIP payments and universal credit.
Chair of the group, Martin Tolley, said: “Red rosette, blue rosette – it makes no difference at all.
“What this Labour government is trying to do and what the previous government has done is absolutely horrible.
“It’s disgusting. It’s vile. It’s pernicious.
